Peanut Butter Heart Cookies

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I wanted to share a super-easy recipe that you can make with your kids to celebrate. These Peanut Butter Heart Cookies would be the perfect addition to any Valentine’s Day party.

Peanut Butter Heart Cookies are a fun take on traditional peanut butter blossoms. Instead of using Hershey’s kisses, though, you can use Reese’s Peanut Butter Hearts to give them a Valentine’s Day feel. The peanut butter inside the candy also compliments the cookie flavor.

I used a Hershey’s variety bag with milk chocolate, dark chocolate and Reese’s peanut butter hearts.

My two-year-old son loved helping me make these cookies. He was so excited to put the hearts on the cookies. We also had to eat a couple of hearts in the process. That’s part of the fun, right?

Ingredients:
1 package Pillsbury Simply…® Peanut Butter Cookie dough
1 package Reese’s Peanut Butter Hearts
1/4 c sugar

 Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Take each cookie piece and shape it into a ball. Roll each ball in the sugar until it is coated and place cookie balls two inches apart on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 12-16 minutes until the tops of the cookies have started to crack and the edges have turned light brown.

Meanwhile, unwrap the Reese’s Peanut Butter Hearts.

Remove cookies from oven and immediately place hearts on top of each cookie. If letting your kids help, make sure they don’t touch the pan or the cookies — they’ll be really hot!

Allow cookies to cool for a bit before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
