The time has come. Your precious bundle of joy is now a toddler or even a preschooler. He no longer fits in those adorable tiny clothes. She has outgrown the Boppy, the bouncer, and the bassinet. You’re done with the maternity clothes and breast pump. And whether saying goodbye to this phase fills you with joy or bittersweet sadness, all the baby stuff has to go.
Many moms opt to sell or consign their used baby clothing and other gear. If that’s your thing, you go, girl!
However, there are many wonderful organizations in the Dallas area that are in desperate need of these items. Donating is a great way to support other moms.
From supporting victims of domestic violence to mentoring teen moms, the following local organizations represent a variety of causes in Dallas. All of them accept gently used and like-new items for moms, babies, toddlers, and the maternity phase.

Brother Bill’s Helping Hand
Brother Bill’s Helping Hand provides food, healthcare, education, mental health services, and a variety of other resources to those in need in West Dallas. Twice a year, it accepts loads of diapers and wipes on Diaper Day — a diaper drive in September/October and January/February for moms with babies two years old and younger. You can drop off other donations year round.
Items needed: Books, women’s hygiene items, canned foods, medical supplies, baby furniture, baby clothes, baby equipment and accessories, baby blankets, maternity clothes, sanitized breast pumps, equipment for new moms, and toys (October – December only).
Genesis Women’s Shelter
Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas provides shelter, safety, and support for women who have escaped domestic violence. Drop off your donations at Genesis Benefit Thrift Store on Knight Street daily before 5:00 p.m. One hundred percent of the store’s proceeds go directly to the shelter.
Items needed: Baby and children’s clothing, toys, maternity clothes, unexpired car seats, toys, books, and electronics. Note: they cannot take breast pumps or mattresses.

Interfaith Family Services
Interfaith Family Services on Ross Avenue empowers Dallas families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty. They provide transitional housing and other methods of support to families experiencing homelessness. It also has an on-site food pantry, and offer donation pick up for large items like dressers and cribs.
Items needed: Cribs, pack ‘n’ plays, toddler beds, changing tables, bed sheets and linens, pots and pans, kitchen storage containers, dressers. For the pantry: Juice boxes, oatmeal, pancake mix, snacks, sandwich bags, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and more.
Nexus Recovery Center
Nexus Recovery Center in Dallas provides treatment and recovery for women experiencing substance abuse, as well as offering expectant mothers or mothers with young children the support they need to create healthy family relationships.
Items needed: New, unused hygiene and wellness items, new or gently used clothing, shoes, baby items, maternity clothing, strollers, baby clothing, blankets, crib toys, and pregnancy and parenting books.

The Family Place
The Family Place empowers victims of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence. Clients of The Family Place receive clothing, furniture and housewares donated to The Family Place Resale Shop to get a jumpstart on their new life. Drop off donations to the resale shop daily before 4:00 p.m.
Items needed: Full-sized toiletries, twin XL sheet sets, crib sheets, diapers, wipes, canned food, baby formula, baby and children’s clothing, and maternity clothing. Note: They cannot accept cribs, car seats, swings, breast pumps, or any item subject to recall.
Prestonwood Pregnancy Center
Prestonwood Pregnancy Center in Richardson provides free ultrasounds, STD testing, pregnancy tests, medical services, education, and support for pregnant women and new moms. These free services are funded in-part by its resale shop, the Prestonwood Family Resource Center. Patients of the pregnancy center earn points to shop here by taking classes. Moms like you donate their gently-used baby items here. Drop off donations at the back door Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Items needed: Baby clothes (up to 5T), board books, pack-n-plays, strollers, highchairs
cribs, crib sheets, mattresses, blankets, diapers (sizes NB – six), wipes, sterilized breast pumps (no parts), small toys, stuffed animals, rattles, and bottles.

Thrive Women’s Clinic
Thrive Women’s Clinic in Dallas and Irving provides women experiencing an unintended pregnancy free medical services such as pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and medical consults. The clinic also refers women to community resources that can provide counseling, stable housing, support for substance abuse, and safety from violence.
Items needed: baby clothing, sterilized breast pumps, diapers, wipes, bottles, blankets, crib sheets, baby furniture, unexpired car seats, pack ‘n’ plays, toys, and swings/bouncers.
Woman to Woman Health Center
Formerly known as Downtown Pregnancy Center, Woman to Woman Health Center is a clinic dedicated to women’s reproductive health on Ervay Street in downtown Dallas. It provides free and low-cost medical services, education, and support for pregnant women and new moms.
Items needed: Diapers, wipes, baby wash, baby lotion, baby shampoo and conditioner, office and medical equipment, sterilized breast pumps, baby clothing, pack ‘n’ plays, strollers, and bouncers/swings.
YoungLives
YoungLives wants to see teen moms thrive. It supports pregnant and parenting teens through community and mentorship. All clothing must be clean and sorted by girl/boy and summer/winter. Drop off at one of its many locations.
Items needed: Baby clothing and other baby items in good condition. Note: It cannot take maternity clothing, car seats, damaged items, or clothing that isn’t in good condition.
