We’ve Joined the Drybar Craze!

What is your favorite part of getting your hair cut or highlighted? For me, it’s the blowout, of course! I try to make that thing last for days, ladies! Don’t tell me I’m not the only one! How is it that a stylist can get my hair to look perfect, yet when I go to dry my hair, it never looks quite like the professionals do it? I just wish I could get a great blowout more often than every 8-12 weeks with my regular hair appointments.

Enter Drybar, a blow dry bar with many locations across the country. I’d heard of Drybar from a few friends, but I hadn’t tried it for myself. Well, when I got the opportunity to check it out and get a free blowout representing Dallas Moms Blog, I was SO excited!

I booked my appointment on my birthday, which was such a fun treat! So, with Starbucks in hand, I took a 10 minute drive north to the Shops at Legacy in Plano. When I walked in, I knew this was my kind of place. The decor was fabulous and the staff was very friendly! I was offered a drink {mimosa, flavored water, etc.} and then was quickly escorted in by my stylist, Nicole, to get started! Just like when you get your hair colored or cut, we sat down in her chair and talked about what I wanted. I had looked at the menu online and all of the styles looked so fun! But, I decided to go with something different from my normal straight look, so I opted for the Mai Tai look- described on their menu as messy, beachy hair. I thought it sounded like the perfect way to style my birthday hair!

Nicole then took me back to get my hair washed. Every blowout {just $35!} comes with a wash, and you can add a scalp massage and a hair shot if you want to really indulge. She used both L’Oreal and Moroccan Oil products that made my hair smell amazing!

Then we started on the Mai Tai blowout. It was such a relaxing experience. I sipped my {cucumber flavored} water and watched a chick flick on their huge tv while Nichole worked her magic.

And here’s the before and after!

What do you think?! I was very pleased! And, my Mai Tai curls lasted THREE DAYS, ladies! That’s three days of fabulous hair! {I will say I have really dry hair and can usually go 3 days between washes, so if you have oily hair, it might not last this long.} Overall, I had a great experience at Drybar and I can’t wait to go back! It’s definitely taking the place of a mani/pedi for my next outing with girlfriends! I’m also contemplating a Drybar Membership. How great would it be to get a few blowouts a month and have my hair looking great all the time?! Ah, that sounds just about perfect.

I encourage you to visit Drybar soon! It’s the perfect pampering for us moms- we deserve to have fabulous hair every once in a while!

*As I said, I received one free blowout from Drybar Plano, but the review and opinions expressed are my own. I really did LOVE my experience and will definitely be back!
