Tillamook® Loaf Love Tour at the Dallas Zoo

When you think of a loaf, you think of bread, right? I sure do! Well, there’s a new loaf in town, moms! What we call a “block” of cheese is called a “loaf” to many, including the folks at Tillamook, one of the nation’s premier natural cheese makers.

Jennifer and I had the chance to represent Dallas Moms Blog at a Tillamook blogger event at one of my favorite restaurants, Neighborhood Services. We had a great time learning about Tillamook and of course, sampling some yummy, cheesy foods!

Don’t know much about Tillamook cheese? It’s because the 103-year-old, farmer-owned co-op based in Oregon has just recently begun focusing on the Texas market. One way they are spreading the word is through their Loaf Love Tour- and guess what?!  It is coming to the Dallas Zoo and you’re invited! And, even better, the first 100 fans dressed in orange get in free!! I don’t know about you, but a free day at the Dallas Zoo sounds like the perfect family outing to me! Here are the details:image006

WHEN:     Saturday, March 10th from 9:00AM to 5:00PM

WHERE:  The Dallas Zoo {650 South RL Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75203}

WHAT:    The Tillamook Loaf Love Tour, the third annual cross-country event dedicated to bringing tasty cheese to the people, is kicking off their three-month journey throughout the Lone Star State Saturday, March 10th.

If free cheese wasn’t enough, Tillamook will be offering free admission for the first 100 fans dressed in their cheesiest Tillamook orange*. As a fun way to spread the “Loaf Love” with Dallas-area residents, fans of all ages can experience the Loaf Love Tour, meet the Tillamook Brand Ambassadors and Loafy, receive cheese samples, coupons, participate in a scavenger hunt, and more. For additional information, visit the Tillamook Facebook page or follow @TillamookCheese on Twitter.

In an effort to bring more cheese to the people, the Loaf Love Tour is hitting the road with more buses, more cheese and visiting more cities than ever before. While in Texas, The Loaf Love Tour will leave its cheesy footprint in Amarillo, Lubbock, Dallas, Tyler, Austin, Houston and San Antonio. While visiting grocery stores, farmers’ markets and special events, the Loaf Love Tour will educate attendees about Tillamook products and share samples of their all-natural cheeses made with the highest-quality milk from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones**.

In addition, Dallas-area fans can tune in to watch Tillamook in their first-ever Texas television advertising campaign this spring. Launching in March, the ads will feature Luke & Dale, Oregon natives traveling the state introducing Tillamook Cheese to the people of Texas. Tune into Tillamook.com in early March to preview the ads.

*Free entry for the first 100 eligible participants only. Free entry starting at 9:00 a.m. until limit reached. Participating fans may check-in at the Tillamook Baby Loaf bus located outside the zoo main gate. To win, attendees must be wearing orange. Limit one free entry per person, no monetary value. Orange-clad fans arriving after first 100 tickets will receive $1 off admission.

Doesn’t that sounds like fun? A few of the contributors will be there representing Dallas Moms Blog. If you plan on coming, let us know! We’d love to meet you!
