Traders Village is an adventure for the entire family! Spanning 150 acres and located in Grand Prarie, Traders Village is one of the largest year round marketplaces in America.

My family and I recently explored all that it has to offer, including the Pow Wow being held that weekend, and had a blast! I’ve included my top reasons to visit Traders Village, as well as some tips for your first visit.

Traders Village

The Food
Y’all. Traders Village has more than 60 food and beverage dining options, including Thai, Mexican, Italian and fair favorites such as turkey legs, funnel cakes and specialty hot links, to name a few. One nice option is the indoor dining area featuring Gary’s Grill and a Subway. We indulged ourselves with Indian Tacos and Kettle Corn, but we WILL be back to try more.

The Shopping
Think of the most random thing you may want to buy right now, and chances are one of the shops at Traders Village has it. This is a true flea market—rows and rows of shops filled with anything ranging from auto accessories, furniture, toys, clothing, jewelry, tools, garage sale bargains, pet birds….the list goes on!

I found THE CUTEST huarache sandals for my 18-month old daughter. I also found endless bargain buys on some kitchen accessories I’ve been wanting. I could have spent A LOT of time browsing all the booths.

The Rides
Rides at Traders VillageThe wristband for unlimited rides is the way to go if your kids want to ride multiple rides. There are six amusement park quality rides, an interactive train that goes around the marketplace and several smaller attractions such as a covered playground and bounce houses for your littles.

I really like that Traders Village offers a variety of options while keeping them all fairly close together. This helps you not lose your kids so easily!

The Special Events

Meeting a dancer during the Pow Wow.

This is probably one of my favorite reasons to go. Not only do you get the experience of the Traders Village market, but you can also experience a Pow Wow, a Polynesian Festival, or even one of their yummy food festivals such as the Crab Fest, Shrimp Fest or Cajun Fest. Various concerts are also put on throughout the year. Check out their current events to see what’s coming this fall. You don’t want to miss some of these!
