Woot’s This?? Online Discount Deals that ALL Moms will Love

1

DMB DiscountI’m not going to lie…before I had babies, I never checked the prices on anything. I didn’t care. If I wanted it, I bought it. Three years later, after two money vacuuming munchkins (that I love more than anything in this world), a series of unfortunate financial mishaps and a total change in perspective, I finally (only took 32 years) understand the value of the dollar. SO, what does this mean you ask yourself?

Simply put, I freaking LOVE a good deal, and ESPECIALLY if it relates to the racket of kid gear. I never buy their clothes at full price anymore (Gap and Old Navy at 40% off what.is.up.), I pick the cheaper brand of milk at the grocery store, and sometimes (don’t tell anyone I admitted this), now, I purchase the non-organic food product over the organic (OH the horror, I know).

SO, in light of my newfound passion for discounted goods, I wanted to share with all of you mamas a hidden gem I recently discovered called Woot Kids. Here’s what you need to know.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, WOOT KIDS IS A SUBSIDIARY OF AMAZON (and gurl, if you don’t know about Amazon Subscribe and Save as a Mom (aka Amazon Mom) you need to send me an email so I can share an entirely separate post that will change your life and number of per month trips to the grocery store). The connection for me as a mom, to a reliable company like Amazon, that I trust to send my babies’ monthly necessities, affirms that Woot is legit. Even better, when you’re subscribing to Woot you can simply use your Amazon login information and it ALL (shipping address, credit card info, etc) transfers to Woot immediately. Convenience for me is key. And that my friends… is convenient.

TWO, IT’S A DAILY DISCOUNT SITE.  So the typical life-cycle of an item is from midnight to midnight, with reductions of 20% or MORE from standard market prices (versus Amazon, where the items are always available, but not Plumtypically at that percentage of a reduction point). Woot never runs a deal that can be found at a lower price elsewhere, so what I’m telling you is this; if it’s up on Woot, it’s a darn good price. Thus, you have to be paying attention and you have to act fast people. For example, they’ve started focusing on consumables (this means food in every day human language), and are really trying to amp up their organic offerings. The site often showcases a case (so 24) of Plum Organics pouches for $12.99. On Diapers.com, the price for 12 (half of 24 for all numbers challenged people) of the same item is $16.99. I am no math wizard, but intuition alone tells me in that scenario, I’m winning with Woot. BIG TIME. (and then I don’t have to (GASP) buy the non-organic Gerber pouches at the grocery store).

THIRD IN LINE, WOOT KIDS OFFERS IT ALLClothes, gear, food, toys… the whole gamut. Truth be told, not EVERY item is something I would purchase, but when it comes to NECESSITIES (this means we all need it), they’re spot on. Here’s a couple of realBob Revolution life recent illustrations. Halo Sleep Sacks (which I live and die by. My first born slept in hers until she was two and a half. True story.) Baby Jogger City Versa Strollers (sold at $179.99 versus market price of $229.99). Monitors (Motorola and iBaby) run monthly. Most recently Woot Kids featured a Graco Convertible Car Seat around 30% off market price. And again, the fruit pouches, for me currently, are key; Plum Organics AND Earth’s Best. MOMS, these items with these prices are pretty incredible, not to mention, Woot’s team has made the website funny and user friendly. SO, to start saving that dough on your kid needs, subscribe here now! You’ll get daily emails alerting you to the deals about to launch AND here’s a TIP… word on the street is that on March 9th, Woot will be featuring a Bob Revolution Stroller for $229.99. Don’t miss it.

Other recent deal sites I’ve come to love, just to really round out your spending habits, are as follows. When it comes to clothes, I truly do rely on Old Navy or Gaps sales. Simply sign up for their emails, and get the discount codes on a pretty regular basis HERE .

If I want to get swanks, I check out the daily deals on Zulily. They have higher end brands for clothes (like Tea), toys (Melissa and Doug) and gear (UppaBaby) at great prices as well.

And last, my staple of all staples is Amazon, specifically as a Prime member. You do pay a fee for Prime membership, but I can get things in 24-48 hours, whether it’s bottle parts, teething toys, diapers, wipes or “consumables” (again, food). If it’s something I know I need monthly, I utilize the Subscribe and Save function, and don’t even have to think about it, because at the same time, every month… those diapers are on my doorstep. Genius.

Enjoy these deals mamas and happy March!

Sloan Dix
Sloan, a product of East Dallas/Lakewood from birth, left in 2001 for college in Nashville, then jobs in London and Atlanta only to determine in 2009 that there was no place like home. At that point she returned to “The Hood” and since then (and in this order) became mom to Georgie in 2011, married David in 2012 and had her second baby, Rawlins, in June of 2014. Sloan‘s “non-traditional” path has propelled her to examine what’s really meaningful in this life. She enjoys sharing the good, the bad and the ugly, desiring for other moms to find encouragement, camaraderie and hope in her life stories that are just plain and flat out real (you can’t make some of this stuff up). Sloan is an avid follower of the Lord, a full time working mama that consistently feels like a hot mess, a wife that often wonders how to balance it all and a human that makes mistakes constantly.

  1. Great piece of info! I subscribed to Amazon Moms too and love it! Another trend I’ve spotted lately is the use of preloved kids stuffs, even high end fashion clothes, which is very popular in European countries and is being received well here too. Check out my favorite website at the moment http://www.kiwispick.com.
