Papa Murphy’s :: My Family’s Secret Weapon to {Crazy} Weeknight Dinners

Now that school has started, so have all of the extracurricular activities during the week. I am a mom that often feels crazed during the mid-week rush of chauffeuring kids to this place and that, but it is made worse when I am constantly feeding them snack packs or going through the same drive-through for the 3rd time in a week. Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza recently came into my life… and I venture to say, saved my sanity!

Tuesday nights have recently been my most rushed evening. My oldest is 4, and he loves his gymnastics class. It just so happens that his favorite coach teaches his age group on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm. I am happy to have his activities fall on weeknights so that our weekends are free for travel, football games, and time with friends and family. That being said, when Tuesday rolls around, I tend to LOATHE my decision to load up all activities during the week.

I feel so rushed by the time I pick kids up at 5:30 then turn around and have to leave our house by 6 to make it to gymnastics in time for him to get ready and prepare for his class to start. Some nights, my kids weren’t eating until after 7:30pm. I was even hangry at that point… something had to give. I asked around to some friends in my neighborhood who are more seasoned in crazy weeknight dinners, and every single one of them suggested adding Papa Murphy’s into my weekly rotation.

It worked out so well because Tuesdays is $10 for any large pizza. Dinner and leftovers for my family of 4 for $10? SOLD! I order mine online during the day then set the time to pick up the pizza before I am set to pick up my kids. Once I get home, I stick it in the oven and bake it. It is done in the perfect amount of time for it to cool down and for us to eat before we are on the move again.

Picky eaters? I hear ya! My family cannot possibly decide on one pizza to share. We love the Papa’s Perfect which is half premium pepperoni and half canadian bacon and pineapple. Since the pizza comes prepared and not baked, I move some of the pepperonis over to create just one slice of cheese for my son. Now we technically have 3 pizzas in 1! You can pick any of their signature flavors OR build your own. (We always add on one of the salads.  My kids usually seem to eat more veggies when we order out.  Papa Murphy’s salads are made fresh daily and it doesn’t require any extra time or effort from me to keep our healthy eating habits during the week.)

I hope you’ll find yourself at a nearby Papa Murphy’s to help you through the mid-week dinner craze. I won’t even judge if you’re having to put your delicious Papa Murphy’s pizza on paper plates and everyone just eat it in the car. My favorite Papa Murphy’s nights are: Tuesdays $10* any Large and Fridays $5.99 Thin Crust Pepperoni, Sausage or Cheese.
