nursing-friendly fashionThe flowers are blooming, the weather is changing (constantly, cause it’s Texas, right?), and I am anxious to be outside! There’s only one problem: none of my clothes seem to fit. I recently went on a bit of shopping spree to find fun spring clothes that fit my postpartum body and are also nursing friendly. Here’s the best of what I found!

Nursing-Friendly Spring Styles for Moms

Nursing-Friendly Dresses

I have several events coming up in the next few months that require a dress. Because I’m still nursing, I try to look for dresses that aren’t necessarily maternity/designed for postpartum, but still make it easy to do so. Some of my favorites are v-neck or button/zip- front dresses. As an aside, can dressmakers please, PLEASE stop putting in buttons for decoration only?? I need functional buttons! Always.

Short-Sleeved V-Neck Party Dress

This dress is super flattering, stretchy enough to nurse in, and has pockets! It comes in lots of patterns, and the empire waist makes this one bump friendly for the first several months of pregnancy.

Tie-Strap Sleeveless Maxi Dress

Here’s an Amazon find that is very stretchy on top to make nursing easy. It’s also lightweight for Texas summers and is bump friendly.

Old Navy Puff Sleeve Maxi Dress

I haven’t tried this one on yet, but the functional buttons have me all *heart eyes* and the longer length is flattering and easy to chase little ones in.

Target Knox Rose Flutter Sleeve Smocked Dress

My sister bought this one for a wedding shower we went to recently, and it is super cute! It has functional buttons and a very flattering midi length.

Postpartum Jean Shorts

I was on the hunt for a pair of high-waisted, longer length jean shorts. Mom shorts, if you will. I tried on several pairs and these slouchy cutoffs from Old Navy were far and away the best for me.

Other options I considered:

Old Navy High-Waisted Button Fly Jean Shorts (5″ inseam)

Target Universal Thread High-Rise Midi Jean Shorts (4″ inseam)

Tank Tops

I have never found a strapless bra that I loved (if you have, please share in the comments). So I’m always on the hunt for tank tops that allow me to wear a regular bra. I’m also going to order these bra strap clips from Amazon to make my regular bras racer-back friendly.

A New Day Slim Fit Tank Top

I love this one from Target—the neckline was super flattering—but it was a little too short for me. If you’re shorter waisted, (or don’t mind showing a bit of midriff) it would be a great option.

Pact Organic Cotton Tank

I saw this one on Kate from Naptime Kitchen and it looks perfect! She said she got it at Whole Foods, but I found it online as well.

Athleisure

I’ve fully embraced the athleisure look and can be found in “soft pants” more often than not. These are my OG favorite joggers, but I just got these new joggers from Old Navy and they are a very close second.

Other athleisure favorites:

Bike Shorts with a Pocket for Your Phone

Quick-Dry All in Motion Tank

All in Motion Mid-Rise Knit Shorts with Pockets

Oiselle Sandals

These sandals are designed for running recovery, but I found them to be incredibly comfortable for pregnancy as well.

New Balance Slip-On Sneakers

These were another pregnancy purchase, but they are cute and super functional for running around.

It can be hard to find cute, comfortable, and practical clothes when you feel like your body is ever-changing. I hope this roundup of nursing-friendly mom clothing helps!
