Neighborhood Holiday Fun

0

I’ve made it a habit to brag about my neighborhood; we do a lot of wonderful things together and are certainly getting into the holiday spirit! Here are 2 fabulously fun activities that you may want to do with your own ‘hood or mommy groups.

Secret Santa (for the kids):

My neighbor, Randi, was so awesome to organize this for our kiddos! After messaging the moms to see who was interested, Randi entered everyone’s info onto http://www.elfster.com/secret-santa/. This site made it easy for kids to be matched, wishlists to be posted (example: Russ likes airplanes and lollipops but is allergic to peanuts), and a schedule to be mapped out. We decided to exchange a $3-$5 present during week 1 and week 2. At the end of the second week, we planned a “Reveal Party” where kids present their partner with a $15-$20 gift. We are currently in the middle of week 2 and the kids (and parents) are loving it! I can’t wait to see everyone at the Reveal Party this weekend!

Favorite Things Party (for the moms):

This will be the second annual Favorite Things party for the moms in my neighborhood. I’m very excited as I was far too pregnant and tired to participate last year. “What’s a Favorite Things party?” you may ask. Well, I’m beyond excited to tell you. With our mommies, we decided to choose 3 of our favorite things around $15, such as a favorite candle, lip gloss, necklace, etc. Once the items are purchased and wrapped, we meet at a local restaurant and lay all the presents out on the table. Numbers are then drawn to establish an order for choosing gifts. Once it’s your turn, you get to pick 3 presents to keep! And if your neighbors are anything like mine, be prepared for this to turn into a night you’ll remember for a long, long time.
