All Month :: Don’t miss out on Autumn at the Arboretum! With thousands of squash to admire, this is a must-do event for every family in DFW.
All Month :: The movin’ and groovin’ dinos are still hanging around at the Heard Museum through the month of November, so take advantage of the fab weather and stroll with the big guys.
November 1 :: It’s the Grand Opening of Perot Museum of Science and Nature’s latest special exhibit: Creatures of Light. Find out how can light can exist even in the dark of the night and the depths of the ocean? Discover extraordinary organisms with the ability to glow by immersing yourself in the magical world of bioluminescence!
November 1 :: Addison goes to the dogs for the 3rd Annual Howlfest at Addison Circle Park. Enter your furry friend into the costume contest, enjoy family-friendly fun, music, pet vaccines, and more.
November 3 :: Make it Pop! Time for First Tuesdays at the Dallas Museum of Art, kids ages 5 and under will enjoy thematic art-making activities, story times, performances, and gallery activities. Free for all.
November 4 :: It’s time for Tales for Tots at the Dallas Public Library – Audelia Road Branch. Toddlers and their caregivers will participate in these special story times that promote literacy and social interaction through stories, songs, and toddler-appropriate activities.
November 4 :: Does your kiddo like to color? Does your kiddo like cookies? Check…. and check! Come to the Richardson Public Library for an afternoon of the littles two favorite things. Yup, it’s Coloring and Cookies from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm.
November 5 :: Head to Texas Discovery Gardens for Stories and More! with Vivian French. Make crafts, read a book, meet special friends and enjoy themed snacks! The programs end with our daily noon butterfly release and are geared for the under-five/stroller crowd.
November 5 :: The Irving Art Center Presents JumpsART Stories & Art. Explore new stories and fun art projects during this creative story time that combines art and children’s literature. Create a take-home art project and then browse the galleries with the kids as part of this fun AND FREE morning activity.
November 6, 7 :: Get prepped for holiday overdrive at the HPA Happy Hollyday Bazaar. This family friendly events offers one-stop shopping for everyone on your holiday list! Check out over 100 specialty vendors offering a wide range of items including: holiday gifts, clothing, jewelry, food, home accents, and children’s toys and clothing.
November 7 :: Take the kids or better yet, leave them at home for The Dallas Flea (hello Moms Day Out!)— an indoor curated marketplace offering handmade, vintage and one-of-a-kind wares from 110+ Texas artisans and small business owners. Outdoors find plants, succulents, garden relics as well as a small farmer’s market and mobile boutiques. Food trucks will be serving up their finest fare, parking and children 12 and under are free; dogs are welcome.
November 7 :: Science is closer than you think! Families can join educators from the Perot Museum for fun experiments on First Saturdays in Klyde Warren Park. Each month will feature a new topic with hands-on investigation and experimentation. November is Sun Science month!
November 7, 14 :: Head to the International Museum of Cultures for a stellar family-friendly series of Saturday events on different cultures from around the world, including a Saturday evening Cultural Film. There will be craft activities for the kids, cultural food, music and outside dancing (weather permitting). $5.00 for Adults – free for children and students. 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.
November 8 :: Let your little yogis work on their downward dog during Kids’ Yoga at Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Center. Imagination Yoga instructors lead kids ages 2-12 on an exciting, story-based journey through yoga poses and kindness curriculum. LLELA’s covered pavilion, beautiful pollinator garden, and forest are the setting for this engaging class. $10 per student.
November 9 :: It’s an Art Make N’ Take Zone from 3:30 pm – 4:45 pm, for super cool after-school fun. Presented by the City of Dallas – Arcadia Branch Public Library.
November 11 :: Join the city of Farmers Branch in honoring America’s veterans during their annual Veterans Day Celebration. The patriotic ceremony will be followed by great entertainment and will end with an All-American hot dog lunch! Admission is free. Arrive early for great seating.
November 14, 15 :: LEGO Mania has arrived in DFW and your kids want to go. Head for BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention, at the Irving Convention Center. This fun, family-friendly event will have tons of amazing LEGO creations to gawk at, building zones to unleash your creative energy, guest speakers and more in the LEGO theater, and vendors selling the latest LEGO sets, mini-figures, and accessories
November 14, 15 :: It’s time to wander through your dream home. Moms, take the day off and enjoy the 39th Annual Lakewood Home Festival, hosted by the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA. Tour eight spotlight homes, enjoy the kick of Friday night party and raise funds for local schools, all in one weekend.
November 14, 15 :: Didn’t get your fill at the LEGO the Fan Convention? Are we even asking that question? Head to LEGOLAND Discovery Center for a weekend filled with LEGO® Star Wars™ activities for all ages including LEGO® Star Wars™build competitions, a large scale LEGO® Yoda™ group build, meet and greet with 501st Legion costumed characters, Star Wars™MINILAND invasion and more.
November 14, 21: Enjoy the cool fall evening at a concert in Carrollton’s historic downtown square. Fun for the whole family!
November 15 :: Head to the Eisemann Center for a performance of Room on the Broom. A witch and her cat are flying happily on their broomstick until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s belongings. A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witch’s lost things, and they all hop on the broom for a ride. But, this broomstick’s not meant for five. When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch?
November 19 :: It’s live music Thursdays at Klyde Warren Park! Grab a spot on the lawn and enjoy music from local band Rania Khoury and the Stone Wolves!
November 20, 21, 22 :: Head for Oz without that whole pesky tornado thing. Breitling Youth Theater Presents: Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz. Tickets: Adults $10, Students and Seniors $8, 3 years and under are free.
November 21 :: Add a little culture into your family adventures by taking in the Dallas Opera Rossini and Company Family Performance. Arrive at 12:30 for kid-friendly activities and stay for the 2:00 showtime.
November 24 :: It’s time to learn all about you at the Frisco Public Library! Using STEM skills, kiddos will investigate what makes each person unique. Space is limited and tickets will be available beginning at 2:30 pm on the day of the class at the 2nd floor Ask Us desk.
November 27 :: Kick off the winter holiday season with a ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad North Pole Express. Running through the end of December, kids will ride the rails with Mrs. Claus, sing carols, have snacks and wait for a special appearance by Santa himself.
November 28 :: It’s opening day at the Flower Mound Christmas Tree Farm! Find tons of fun activities at Flower Mound Christmas Trees just for your little elves, such as pyramid built from hay bales, and jump houses. All activities are free of charge. Hot chocolate and cider are free on the weekends for our patrons.
November 28 :: Did you know that lions, tigers, mountain lions and leopards call the City of Wylie home? Come and hang with the big cats for the Fall Festival at In-Sync Exotics.
November 28 :: Join the fun on the ice for various Thanksgiving-themed on-ice games and activities including Turkey Bowling, Turkey Dice and a coloring section at the 4th Annual Great Turkey Skate at Allen Community Ice Rink. All on-ice participants must wear skates. Bring a non-perishable item and receive a free skate rental. All ages are welcome to this family-friendly event.
November 29 :: We know kids love trains. So there’s nothing better than seeing a model train set up in a historic baggage car! Visit the Lone Star Hi-Railers Train Association for a miniature tour of the city of Grapevine of Yesteryear.
November 30 :: Let em’ bounce until they can’t bounce anymore at Little Tykes Jump at Pump it Up in Frisco. Two whole hours reserved for the littles ages 6 and under. Don’t forget to bring socks!
