Favorite Hot Dog Places in Dallas for National Hot Dog Month

best hot dogs in DallasNothing says summertime like a nice, juicy hot dog! July is National Hot Dog Month, which gives us a great reason to celebrate these tasty treats. It’s said that Germans began selling hot dogs to the public in the late 1800s, and people have continued to make them better and fancier every year. Here are four of my favorite places around Dallas to get a hot dog—one that’s loaded with creative toppings OR your classic beef dog.

Richardson

Dog Haus Biergarten
744 S. Central Expy., Suite 210, Richardson, TX 75080

Located in Richardson, Dog Haus is a great spot to try a variety of yummy hot dogs and grab a drink from their long list of beverage choices. Their menu features 7 types of hot dogs uniquely served on King’s Hawaiian rolls. So far, my favorite has been the Cowboy. Along with the hot dogs, they offer sausage dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, and sliders, all served on Hawaiian rolls. Check out their website for Happy Hour specials!

Deep Ellum

Cold Beer Company
3600 Main Street, Dallas, TX, 75226

On the fringe of Deep Ellum, at the corner of Main and Exposition, you will find Cold Beer Company. They have a great interior and multiple outdoor areas. You have two hot dog options, both made with a half-pound beef dog on a poppy seed bun, jokingly called The Big A** Dog. I tried mine with the hatch queso, and I was in hot dog heaven. Their other dog, The Expo Dog, comes covered with mac-n-cheese, bacon, and sport peppers. Check their Facebook for daily deals, including $2 off hot dogs on Wednesday night.

Arlington

Globe Life Field
734 Stadium Dr, Arlington, TX 76011

boomstick hot dog ArlingtonAt Globe Life Field in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers, you can catch a great baseball game and purchase one of their nationally featured famous food items, the Boomstick. Named after former Texas Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz, this two-foot-long dog has gained a ton of media attention. It costs just under $30 for you and the family to try this dog, but we hear it is well worth it! Topping options are pretty traditional for a ballpark dog: jalapenos, onions, chili, nacho cheese.

Rockwall

Wells Cattle Co. Restaurant and Market                                                                            206 N. Fannin St. Rockwall, TX 75087

Take a short drive over to Rockwall, where you and the family can stop in at a locally owned, farm-to-table restaurant nestled in a cute historic house right off the square. Nothing says National Hot Dog Month like 16 different ranch-raised Wagyu beef hot dogs that will please any eater. My current favorite is the pimento cheese dog, which has diced onion, tomato, crispy bacon, and spicy pimento cheese. Wells’ menu not only boasts 16 types of Wagyu hot dogs, but they also serve whole-ground Angus beef burgers, yummy sides like Brussels sprouts, a to-die-for peach cobbler, and a lengthy Keto menu.
