I Love Urgent Care {And CareNow’s New Safety Measures!}

I was late to the game on urgent care, I admit. Don’t let this happen to you! It’s such a convenient option for those everyday issues that you want to get checked out right away for peace of mind.

I think the first time I brought one of my kids to urgent care was when my son cut his little arm on a bed frame. It was the weekend (of course) and I wanted to make sure he didn’t need stitches. We went in, got taken care of, and were out of there and on with our lives. Easy peasy. Love it.

But the ISSUE right now is feeling comfortable going into a medical facility. I totally get that (and have the white coat hypertension to prove it). Unfortunately, everyday illness is still a thing, and kids get into scrapes. You might find yourself in need of some urgent care, pandemic or not. So let’s talk about how to do that safely with CareNow.

Just reading through their enhanced safety precautions makes me feel more at ease. I think you feel good about it, too. They were stringent before, and now it’s even more focused. Here’s what they’ve implemented:

LIMITED PATIENT COMPANIONS

To keep numbers down, they limit each patient to one essential companion.

CLEANING & SANITIZING

They’ve leveled up sanitization in all exam rooms, waiting rooms, and any patient areas. They’ve also removed high-touch items like magazines, toys, and refreshments for the time being.

SCREENING

All patients and visitors are screened for COVID-19 symptoms and risk factors upon or before arrival to the clinic. If the screen is positive they will provide a mask for you to wear.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

This includes spaced out seating in the waiting areas and separate entrances.

MASKING

CareNow follows universal masking guidance, which means all staff, patients, and companions will wear a mask, regardless of symptom or exposure, to ensure safety for all.

WEB and CAR CHECK-IN

Make an appointment online with Web Check-In® and call from your car when you arrive. No need to sit in the waiting room!

Isn’t it soothing to see good safety procedures and protocol in times like these? Especially since we can’t just avoid healthcare or illness for the next two years. How unrealistic. But it helps to know that when something comes up, you can count on CareNow to absolutely prioritize your health and safety in these crazy days. Remember them the next time you need urgent care!

Know where your nearest CareNow is located – with 40 locations across DFW, you’ll surely have one close by. You can also get an idea of what they treat and all the different services CareNow provides. Trust me, one of these things will pop up when the pediatrician’s office is closed. That’s LIFE!!

  1. I recently went to their location in Las Colinas for a non-Covid issue. I had a great experience when I was actually treated. But when I needed to follow-up with them since I was not getting better, no one ever got back to me. While I understand we are living in a weird times with this whole virus situation, it’s very unprofessional to not answer phones and/or return messages. I ended up having to go somewhere because I was very sick. I was very disappointed and this has changed my outlook on whether I would ever go back despite the care I received.

    • Oh no! I’m so sorry you had this experience. We’ll pass this message along to them and I’m sure they’ll appreciate the feedback!
