Whenever I’m trying to learn more about a potential new school, I like to start with the basics. The fast facts, if you will. And the fact I want to start with is that The Oakridge School is located in Arlington.
For some of you, that’s not going to work out, and that’s ok! But for many of you, it’s closer than you might think AND it’s a competitive consideration vs. Dallas private schools.
- Located in Arlington on a lovely, sprawling campus (click here for the map)
- Preschool through 12th grade | Early Childhood (PS, PK, K), Lower School (Grades 1-4), Middle School (Grades 5-8), Upper School (Grades 9-12)
- Student-Teacher ratio 10:1
- Founded in 1979
THE OAKRIDGE MISSION:
To inspire students to seek their full potential in academics, the arts, and athletics in a challenging and nurturing environment that cultivates social responsibility, mutual respect, and personal integrity.
It’s time to get serious about where you want to send your child for school in Fall 2020. You have high expectations for their education, but how do you make the decision? There’s so many variables and priorities you need to define for yourself along the way.
Are you interested in a diverse college prep environment based on respect, responsibility, and empathy?
A blend of established and progressive teaching methods?
The opportunity for your kids to exchange ideas and experiences within a global community?
This is the part where I say, “If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you need to look into The Oakridge School.”
And if we could talk about tuition for a sec…
Don’t let potentially overwhelming financial commitments deter you from seeking out an excellent education for your child. Check out this FAQ with a bunch of info about financial aid grants. They want to work with you to find ways of making an Oakridge education a reality.
As I always say, the absolute BEST way to get a sense of a school and decide if it feels right is to schedule a tour. You’ll love the campus—it has an idyllic, country feel despite being super accessible to the surrounding cities. One of their 2020 admission events would also be a great idea.
And in the meantime, I encourage you to poke around on their website. Look at all these shared stories on the Oakridge experience. Find out the answer to the question, “Why Oakridge?” and see how they’ve invested deeply in becoming more than a school.
