Stop what you are doing and rediscover Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas! Our family just returned from a fun-filled weekend trip and we were not disappointed.

With $11 million invested in renovations, it is more than fair to say that Great Wolf Lodge works diligently to keep the property up to date, full of never-ending entertainment and accommodations for families of all sizes!

The Newly Renovated Rooms

The rooms have been updated to a beautiful, calm and modern look — all 605 rooms! This isn’t your common hotel, Great Wolf Lodge really thinks about things like space from a family perspective.

The family suite has 2 full-size beds (extra cozy!) a sleeper sofa, full-size bathroom, 2 bar areas: one with a sink (Perfect for moms who need to pump, wash bottles, sippy cups, etc) and another for food storage! Our room featured a mini fridge which worked out perfect because our tiny one is lactose intolerant.

When I say these rooms are big, I’m not kidding…my 9 year old was doing gymnastics in it without hurting anyone or anything. We were also able to get a pack and play set up for the baby without any disruption of space.

For the kiddos, there are amazing Kid Cabins that feature log bunk beds in their own space. In the kid section of the room, they have a private 32 inch mounted tv! For mom and dad, there is a full-size bed and a sleeper sofa as well as another mounted TV.

Non-Stop Entertainment for Families

Seriously, we had a hard time picking which activity we wanted to do because there were so many choices. We stayed downstairs on Main Street the majority of our trip. Music, shops, candy stores, a kid spa, arcade, entry to the waterpark and more!

Our family really enjoyed the 24-hour arcade when we were not splashing around in the waterpark. How cool is it that the arcade is open 24 hours? This means that teens who aren’t quite ready for bed, or families with little ones who wake up super early automatically have a fun place to go hang out!

I highly recommend checking out the really cool interactive game Great Wolf Lodge has all over the hotel called Magiquest. This game is basically like a magical scavenger hunt. You purchase a magic wand and your game is activated!

You are given a Book Of Wisdom full of hints and special tasks that must be completed in order to conquer the game. What is neat is when the kiddos (or perhaps an adult) conquer the game, they get knighted in a special ceremony held in the Main Lobby.

FUN FACT :: You can always purchase a cool little package called a Paw Pass! By purchasing a Paw Pass (per person), you get a package that includes: One MagiQuest or Shadow Quest game, Choice of Compass Quest game, classic or color wand, standard topper or belt, One Creation Station animal (outfit not included), One Glitz Glitter Tattoo, One Paw Points game card ($5), One 12 oz. candy cup, One Leather Treaty bracelet or keychain from The Name Shop, and One pair of Great Wolf Lodge goggles from Buckhorn Exchange Gift Shop

In-House Restaurants

Last but certainly not least is the delicious food and drinks! We ate more than ever at Great Wolf Lodge because the preparation and presentation were to die for. There are so many choices served at each meal, you just want to take them all.

There is an adorable and entertaining character breakfast at the Loose Moose Cottage every morning starting at 7:30 a.m! Wiley and his pals come out, do a little dance and then stick around for a photo op. My girls are BIG into characters so this was especially thrilling for them. The food is buffet style and you have choice varying from yogurt and cereal, traditional breakfast foods an omelet station and of course delicious pastries galore! There is something for everyone at this breakfast!

Oh, did I forget to mention the Starbucks located on the Lobby Level? That’s right….a Starbucks! If you are a serious coffee addict like me and need that fix, look no further, Great Wolf Lodge has you covered so you don’t have to leave the property!

What’s Next for Great Wolf Lodge?

General Manager Phil Cunningham says they are not quite done with their renovations at the Grapevine location. He has big ideas and hopes for Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine and I’m quite positive he will bring those ideas to life!

What you can expect in the very near future are expansions in areas like Starbucks with more seating and room to enjoy your beverages and snacks.

Something exciting the kiddos can look forward to is a new addition of Build a Bear! They will be splitting the gift shop with space for a Build A Bear designed for Great Wolf Lodge. By May, you and your family will be able to spend time building a new stuffed friend….even a wolf, of course!

The Lobby will also be getting some improvements of its own. Right now, the nightly Storytime Characters tell a great story, but you hear the same tale twice a day. New technology will allow the Great Wolf Lodge staff to change stories over time. They will be able to match the theme of the story to say like the season or holiday! How cool is that?

All renovations will be finished by May, but trust me on this, your family is going to enjoy a weekend stay at Great Wolf Lodge as soon as possible!

The property stays alive and hopping with so many attractions for the kids as well as us adults. Throughout the weekend, the staff was super friendly and led different activities for the kids to participate in like craft time, yoga for families and of course, and plenty of story times. I wish we could have stayed longer, but every trip has to end.

If you think that all Great Wolf Lodge has to offer is that magnificent water park, you are wrong. There is definitely something exciting for everyone of all ages to do!

My name is Brooke and I grew up in a small town east of Dallas where I attended all of grade school…. a town where everybody knows everybody & where my family still resides! I moved to North Dallas June of 2016 and I fall in love with the fast-paced/ forever changing environment a little more each day. I graduated from Texas A&M Commerce in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of General Studies. I decided one degree wasn’t enough so I {crazily} decided to take my education a step further at Dallas Baptist University where I graduated in December 2016 with a Masters of Arts in management. I am a single momma to 2 spunky/sassy/hilarious/head-strong/energetic/beautiful little girls, Marli (8) & Madison (5 months). Aside from spotlighting as a pro mac-n- cheese maker & boo-boo kisser, I work full-time as a Pre-Sale Specialist for a group insurance company and am a Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay. My hobbies include constantly planning our next trip to Disney World (or as I like to call it, Home because we are a bit obsessed!), cruising through Target with a latte in hand, & of course, living my true purpose in life - being a girl-mom! The girls and I love to be outdoors when weather permits, hang out at Starbucks and look for opportunities to serve others! Just like most every mom out there, my life revolves around my children's social lives, so finding a moment to have a little “me time” is rare. Whenever that glorious moment comes around, I try to unwind with a cup of coffee or the occasional glass of wine and binge on Netflix. Our lives are very full and at times a bit chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
