Holy moly, this summer has been one for the books as far as heat is concerned. Most moms I know have been scrambling for ways to keep their children entertained indoors, myself included. When the second McDonald’s Lunch Bunch date rolled around on July 12, 2018, we were so excited to attend! Everyone loaded up their kiddos and headed to one of the Plano locations for a fun-filled lunch date.

McDonald’s went the extra mile to plan a super fun lunch for us! The Plano location at Coit and George Bush, has an amazing indoor playscape for the kiddos to enjoy before or after enjoying their meal. Many of the children who attended got to expend some of their endless energy while parents got to go behind the scenes for a tour of the kitchen.  We got to see everything from the state-of-the-art grilling technology to the condiment station with all the fixings.

It was so interesting to see everything (and everyone) that actually goes into making the new McDonald’s fresh beef Quarter Pounder® burgers. Fun fact! How many steps does it takes from the time you place or McDonald’s order until the time it’s served up on a tray? 23 steps! Crazy right? Those 23 steps all start with a 100% fresh beef patty from North America and cooked right when you order it. Then it’s thrown on the grill, seasoned, and cooked to perfection.

After kitchen tours, the kids had the opportunity to check out a fire truck and meet a few of the men that make up the Plano Fire Department. It was so fun to see the kids’ eyes light up when they got to meet a few local heroes. The Firefighters even came prepared with fire-themed coloring sheets and Fire Department stickers.

After enjoying lunch, McDonald’s kicked off a fun game of trivia and sent a few lucky attendees home with some great prizes! If you weren’t lucky enough to win a prize during trivia, McDonald’s sent everyone off tired and ready for nap time with a fabulous swag bag.

Thank you to McDonald’s for hosting the second Lunch Bunch playdate, and thank you to everyone who attended! We had so much fun getting a break from the heat with you, and look forward to the next lunch bunch get together.
