Five Fantastic Birthday Parties

0

We have had the pleasure of attending some really great birthday parties over the last few years. While there are many great places in and around Dallas to host a fun toddler birthday party, I wanted to share a handful of my favorites.

1. Texas Discovery Gardens – This is one of my favorite places to visit with my kids, and we actually first visited for a birthday party. It was so different and so much fun!

What you get: Setup in the Children’s Classroom with paper goods, ice and utensils. Birthday cake or other treats and drinks can be brought in and a craft can be provided upon request. The highlight of the party is admission to the butterfly house! Cost is approximately $200.

What you get: Party area reserved for two hours, themed paper goods and party favor for each child, use of the children’s play area, in-flight movie and much more! Packages start at $115 for members and $140 for non-members.

3. Dallas Gym / Walnut Hill Rec Center – I recently posted about this place and the weekday open gym.  The birthday parties are also fantastic. You have the combination of gym equipment, trampolines and bounce houses!

What you get: The standard party is 90 minutes with 70 minutes of play time and 20 minutes in an area designated for cake or other snacks. The cost starts at $150.

4. Local Park – There are so many great parks in Dallas, many with picnic tables and some with pavilions.

What you get: A great time outdoors with family and friends! You bring drinks, snacks, cakes, etc. The kids have a blast and you socialize with other parents. If you are looking for a park with a pavilion, such as Scottish Rite Hospital park (another Dallas Moms Blog favorite), be sure to check policy for reservations. The cost is FREE (other than what you choose to bring for food, drinks, etc.)

5. Perot Museum – We had the twins’ 3rd birthday party here this year and it was wonderful! We had the last two parties at our house, but we decided to have someone else do the work this year and we were so pleased with our decision! There are many different themed packages to choose from.

What you get: Party room for you and your guests and then the rest really depends on the birthday package. We chose the Museum Explorer package, so we had a party room where we had some snacks, juice and cookies that we ordered from the museum catering option and then our guests were able to explore the museum. Our party room opened up to the fabulous Children’s play area. While we were playing, the party coordinator cleaned our room and bagged the gifts for us.  The planning was very easy which is exactly what I needed this year! Packages start at $240 for members and $300 for non-members.
