Ideas for Fall Break In & Around Dallas With Your Kids

In recent years, many school districts have started observing a fall break, and it’s a great chance to plan some extra time with your family. Here are some fun ideas for adding in some fall quality time with the kids.

Weeklong Vacation Ideas for Fall Break

Are you able to take the whole week off with your kids? This is a great time for a family vacation as it is considered off season, and most places are running specials.

Camping

Camping in Texas can be tough with the wide variety of weather we have, however fall break will likely have great temperatures for us! Did you know Texas has two national parks and 88 state parks? This is a great time to look at these lists and knock some off.

Theme Day Ideas for Fall Break

Don’t have the whole week off with your kids? No worries! This week is a great time to plan a weekday just for in-town activities, especially those that might normally be crowded on weekends. I love the idea of making the day themed, too.

Venues that are normally busy on weekends:

State Fair of Texas (opens September 30, 2022)

Dallas Arboretum

Yesterland Farm

Blase Farms (open Sept. 24–Oct. 30, 2022)

Sports Day

Start with a tour of the Star in Frisco, then lunch and golf at TopGolf, and finish your day at Andretti’s for some race car driving.

Movie Day

Start your day at the Wax Museum in Grand Prairie checking out all your favorite celebrities, then finish things off with lunch and a movie at Alamo Drafthouse.

Downtown Dallas Day

Start at the Perot Museum, have lunch at Klyde Warren Park, and finish at the Dallas Museum of Art. More here: Cool Things to Do With Kids in Downtown Dallas

No matter which activity you and your family choose, you will for sure enjoy the extra rest and relaxation!
