Date Night in Dallas :: Tapas

0

It’s the weekend and time for a date night! The usual places just won’t do, so it’s time to try something new and exciting: tapas!

First, what are tapas? Originating in Spain, tapas are traditionally snacks or appetizers on small plates, served cold or hot—anything from nuts to olives to meats to vegetables and cheeses! Patrons typically order a variety to sample, thus making an entire meal. Most choose to enjoy tapas with a nice glass of wine or sangria, depending on where you visit.

Here’s where to find great tapas in Dallas:

Si Tapas | 2207 Allen, Dallas, TX 75204

You might miss Si Tapas if you don’t know it’s there. Located in a house in Uptown, it’s small, charming, and romantic. The low lights and candles make it a great Friday night date choice. We started with the garlic and shrimp and Spanish omelet, accompanied by their House Tempranillo.

Dinner was asparagus with Idiazábal cheese; rice with a fried egg and tomato sauce; sirloin with Dijon mustard; meatballs with mint sauce; and another sirloin with blue cheese sauce. Hot tip: Si Tapas Happy Hour is Monday–Thursday, 3–6pm with $3 tapas and drink specials.
