Alamo Kids Camp offers summer screenings of family-friendly movies at Alamo Drafthouse, from recent animated favorites to timeless classics. Most are for ages three and up, but some are designated all ages. Check your listing and location at the link to verify. Tickets $5 for all.


Cinemark’s Summer Movie Clubhouse means weekly fun films for kids for just $1.50 per person, per movie. Save even more with $1 off kids’ snack packs or any size popcorn and drink combo. You can purchase tickets online or at the box office. See the link for the movie line up.


Concert by the Lake in Rockwall features fun cover bands every week at The Harbor Amphitheater at Lake Ray Hubbard. See link for schedule of bands. 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Free!


First Fridays at Nash Farms. Each month, this program presents a different theme that highlights heritage skills. Registration is required and space is limited. Purchase tickets and check out this month’s theme here.


Peppa Pig World of Play is open for summer fun all season long! This venue is a new, indoor play center at Grapevine Mills, designed specifically to give preschool children a unique opportunity to step into the playful world of their favorite little piggy. Admission starts at $27.99 for adult and child combo. See link for more details.


Red Tent Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Come out and buy locally grown produce and other goods at the farmer’s market located in The District! More than 20 vendors will be in attendance every week, offering everything from local produce, baked goods, and handmade artisan goods to grass fed beef, farm fresh eggs, locally harvest honey, and plants.


Shakespeare in the Park celebrates 51 years with performances of Much Ado About Nothing and Two Gentlemen of Verona. Pack a picnic and BYOB! Lawn chairs or blankets recommended. 7:45 p.m. Tickets $20; children 10 and under free.


Shark Month at SEA LIFE Grapevine. Join the adventure this month and learn more about one of the most misunderstood creatures on earth! Tickets required for admission, see link for details.


Showtime Saturday, the popular and fabulous kids show, is happening every Saturday at Galleria Dallas. Join in the fun at the Play Place on Level 3. Free!


The Sounds of Lewisville concert takes place every Tuesday night in July, in Wayne Ferguson Plaza. The opening act performs from 7:00 – 7:45 p.m., followed by the headliner from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. There will be NO concert on Tuesday, July 4. Free!


Summer at the Arboretum includes all sorts of different activities and presentations! Family Fun Fridays return all June and July, with a petting zoo and story time for the kids – and frozen treats for purchase – all at the Pecan Grove. Live piano performances continue all summer long at Jeanne’s Pavilion, each Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., and Dallas’ best party bands hit the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage each holiday weekend from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Included with garden admission.

Summer Family Fun: Drawing in the Galleries is happening every Tuesday, June 6 – August 1, at the DMA. Join the Teen Ambassadors for a drawing activity inspired by works of art in the DMA’s collection. No program on July 4. Free!


Summer Family Fun: Pop-Up Art Spot is your ticket to a creative break in the galleries! Stop by the DMA to find fun activities for all ages at the Pop-Up Art Spot cart. Happening through the end of July, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Free!


Summer Saturdays at Central is your chance to experience free family events, meant to entertain and educate. From solving crime scenes, to dancing at a Court of Thorns inspired masquerade, you can grab a drink, learn something and meet new people, all at the library. Events are free and so is parking (in the library parking garage). Check link for weekly events.


Summerfest is in full swing at the Gaylord Texan. As a hotel guest, you’ll have access to the Gaylord’s Paradise Springs waterpark and a chance to participate in other seasonal family-friendly activities like movie nights, exotic animal encounters, scavenger hunts, and more.

JULY 1

Bring the whole family out for the 1st Saturday Nature Walk at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area! This leisurely walk will be led by Rick and Lisa Travis from the Blackland Prairie Texas Master Naturalist chapter and promises to be filled will all sorts of amazing facts about our local flora and fauna.  Event is FREE (with $5/vehicle paid entry to LLELA). This family friendly hike will last about two hours (9:00 – 11:00 a.m.). Registration is required.


JULY 3

Art Babies: Once Upon a Time at the DMA. For children up to 24 months old and their caregivers. Songs and story time, followed by playtime and an opportunity to mingle with other parents and caregivers. Adults and siblings do not need a ticket.

Arturo’s Art and Me: A Morning with Monet at the DMA. A class for kids ages three – five years (and their favorite adult). Kids can listen to a story and look at works of art in the Museum galleries before creating an original work of art. In July, take an imaginary stroll through artist Claude Monet’s garden and discover an art style that made quite an impression on the world. 11:00 – a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for museum members, $10 for non-members.

This month, Irving Art Center’s JumpstART Stories and Art theme is “Happy Birthday, USA!” Celebrate Independence Day with art projects and patriotic stories. JumpstART happens every first Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. For kids two years and up. Free!

Kick off the month at Dallas Farmers Market with M.A.D.E. Dallas! Shop small, enjoy live music, bites, drinks and more. Pick up some fresh peaches and blueberries from local farms. 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Free!

Ice Cream Social! Join the community at Nash Farm for a relaxing social evening of ice cream and Victorian lawn games. The Grapevine Cornet Band will accompany the evening with traditional old-time music. Lawn chairs, quilts and picnics welcome! Admission is $10. Event begins at 7:00 p.m.

Kids will become junior detectives and search the galleries for clues, then celebrate sleuthing skills in the art studio. Tickets are $7 for museum members, $10 for non-members. Adults and younger siblings do not need a ticket.


JULY 8

Today is the Parker County Peach Festival in Historic Downtown Weatherford. Over 200 arts, crafts, food and activity booths, live music, children’s activities, the Peach Pedal Bike Ride, “42” Domino Tourney, and more. 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tickets $10 for adults; $5 for children.


JULY 8

Saturdays on the Square: Christmas in July is back in downtown Carrollton. Play inside a giant snow globe, take a photo with Santa, and make a Christmas craft while enjoying the sunshine. 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Free!


JULY 9

Denton Drive Live! is a family-friendly, music festival-style event in Farmers Branch Historical Park featuring two bands, kids’ activities, and food and drink for purchase. See link for performance schedule. 6:15 –10:00 p.m. Free!


JULY 9

Open Studio for Teens, a new teen program at Irving Arts Center, is a place where teens can create art, experiment with materials, learn new techniques and make new friends! Takes place at the same time as the family event, Second Sunday Funday (see below). 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Free!

Second Sunday Funday is a hands-on art afternoon, offering parents and children projects they can create together in the creative atmosphere of Irving Arts Center. Drop in between 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. to find inspiration in the gallery exhibitions and to make art, friends and fun. Free!

The Addison Parks and Recreation team is bringing Pop-Up Play to a park near you. The trailer is fun for all ages and offers Giant Jenga, Imagination Playground blocks, cornhole, and more! 4:00 – 6:45 p.m. Free!

Join the farmhands at Nash Farm for monthly Homeschool Days. Guests will experience typical farm activities, while learning about the Nash family and farm history. Afterwards, guests are welcome to picnic and explore on the farm. Purchase tickets here.

This even not only celebrates the Apollo 11 landing anniversary, but also showcases the past, present, and future of space exploration. Moon Day includes family-oriented space-themed exhibits, activities, and presentations geared towards all ages.

Texas Rangers Family Field Day is a chance to do all kinds of fun stuff at Globe Life Field: catch on the field, inflatables, mini home run derby, yard games, balloon artists, face painters, pitching challenge in the bullpen, and lots more.   1. Youth camps at AR Workshop in Dallas! Well priced and kids have so much fun. You can drop your kiddo off and go run errands too. Lots of room in the studio and everyone is really spaced out! There is stuff for adults too!
