Breakfast at Chiloso

4

Recently my husband introduced me to a little restaurant he and his co-workers have frequented – Chiloso Mexican Bistro. It’s located at Campbell and 75 in Richardson, though they have two other locations in Rockwall and Wylie. My husband doted about this place for weeks before we finally went. And once we did, it climbed to the top of my list of favorite places to eat in Richardson!

Chiloso’s breakfasts are amazing! For $5.50 you receive three breakfast tacos, tailored to your taste, a drink, and chips! How great of a value is that? I normally ask for a side of guacamole too! Here’s a tip – A side of guacamole and adding it to your tacos is the same price, but you get much more when you ask for it on the side!

When you place your order, you actually watch as they prepare your food. I love being able to point to the different ingredients I want on my tacos and see that they are fresh.

The Mexican bistro is colorfully decorated with contemporary lighting and accents. Seating is a mix of booths and tables. There are a couple of TV’s on the wall if you have a sports fan or news junkie in your crew. This is a great place to take the family for a Saturday morning breakfast or to meet a group of friends!

Breakfasts are served until 10:30 AM weekday mornings and noon on the weekends, but they are open for lunch and dinner too! In fact, Chiloso is known for their famous grilled avocados. But truth be told, I only go there for breakfasts, so I haven’t gotten to try one!

At our house, we are always looking for ways to save money, and we rarely eat out. But when we go to Chiloso for a family breakfast, my little family of two adults and a toddler can all eat for around $12 with tax! Can’t beat that!

I’ll leave you with one last tip. When you go, ask for a frequent diner punch card. They don’t advertise these, but they will give it to you if you ask. Buy seven taco meals, and your eighth is free!

Do you have any breakfast places you love?

  1. Yum!  I want to try it now for breakfast!  I really thought it was just lunch and dinner.  And $12??  Whoa!  Awesome!  Too close to me not to try it out!  Thanks for the tips. 🙂
