Teachers deserve all of our appreciation every day of the year. However, we have two specific opportunities coming up to show teachers some extra love. The first is National Teacher Appreciation Week, which is May 2–6, 2022. The second opportunity is the end of the school year, which for many of us is at the end of May.

There are many thoughtful ways to show your teachers how much you appreciate them, from a handwritten note to a meal or drink, even a gift card. If you’re at a loss as to what to give your teacher, check out my list below. I’ve scoured Amazon to find my top 10 favorite teacher gifts for $20 or less.

Top 10 Teacher Gifts for $20 or Less

Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens

1. Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens

These pens are a personal favorite of mine and of a lot of teachers I know. They come in a wide variety of fun, vibrant colors, and they are smudge resistant (which a left hander like me especially appreciates!).

Beegreen Initial Canvas Tote Bage2. BeeGreen Initial Canvas Tote Bag

Teachers can always use a good bag for carting papers and items to and from school. This one is a great size, and it can be personalized.

3. Anovina Shower Steamers

The next best thing to an actual trip to the spa is bringing the spa to your own shower. That’s what these shower steamers do. And if anyone deserves some time to relax and unwind, it’s a teacher. I love that this set has six different scents to enjoy.

4. Carol’s Daughter Lavender Mint Foot Cream

Keeping with the relaxation theme, this lavender mint foot cream is just the thing a teacher needs after spending long days standing in a classroom.

5. Tronco Glass Tumbler with Silicone Lid and Straw

This suggestion actually violates my personal “no cups for teachers” rule; however, this glass tumbler checks all the boxes on my list for a good tumbler for teachers—glass, silicone sleeve and straw, dishwasher safe, and spill-proof! Whether you’re using this for morning coffee, smoothies, or water, this seems like a great tumbler, and there are lots of fun color options.

6. Badge Lanyards for Women

I love these fun badge lanyards. There are tons of bead options to choose from, and they are perfect for teachers’ IDs and keys—practical and fun! I’m not required to wear an ID at the school where I teach, but when we were required to wear masks last year, I loved receiving fun mask lanyards as gifts. It makes the mundane just a little bit more exciting.

7. Book Lovers T-Shirt or Teaching Future Leaders T-Shirt

Once you start searching, you’ll find so many cute shirts for teachers. These are two of my favorites under $20, and both come in a wide variety of color options.

8. Carson Dellosa Aim High To Do List Notepad

Unique notepads are always a good teacher gift. They use notepads to send notes home to parents or to other teachers, or simply to write notes to themselves. I like this particular notepad because it can almost function as a mini planner, but there are a lot to choose from. Personalized notepads are also a good option!

9. Sharpies

Teachers will always need Sharpies, forever and ever, amen. This pack of bright colors is a fun spin on a necessity and one that I think all teachers would appreciate.

10. Amazon Gift Card

Gift cards are always in style, and truly so appreciated. By giving a gift card, you’re allowing your teacher to choose whether they use it on their classroom needs or something for themselves.

In my opinion, teachers deserve it all! The work they do each and every day is invaluable and often thankless. If you have the opportunity, thank a teacher today.
