Dallas Moms is produced by local moms for local moms and to connect local families with the county, each other, and local businesses. We believe that with the right resources you can make decisions that are best for your family! Our team (writers, events team, and executive team) is made up of local moms who are involved in their communities, local schools, philanthropic and activism organizations, and who are raising their families in the Dallas Metroplex and surrounding suburbs. We come from different backgrounds, belief sets, faiths, educational experiences, cultural experiences, parenting philosophies, and have definite taco preferences. Above all else, our mission is to remind you that you’re not alone on this parenting journey and we’re here for you!

Dallas Moms (originally Dallas Moms Blog) was founded as the first sister site of City Mom Collective in April 2011 by local moms Lauren Kimmel and Casey Gilliam. Krystal Hurst owned Dallas Moms and Collin County Moms from 2012 – 2022 during a significant time of growth and development for these parenting resource platforms, helping them become the sites they are today. We thank these women for being a part of Dallas Moms history!
Meet The Co-Founders

Co-FounderBefore Lauren became a mom, she was teaching 4 and 5 year olds while usually covered in glue, glitter, stickers, and hugs. Not much has changed, except her only students are her four children. She is married to Cody, a talented musician and creative genius who leads them on plenty of exciting adventures. Lauren moved from Dallas in 2013 and headed to Scottsdale, Arizona where her husband Cody received a job in ministry.
Co-FounderBefore Casey was a mom, she was a dedicated educator in DISD. Casey has been married to Gabe since 2003 and they now have three kiddos. The Gilliam family moved from Dallas in 2012 and currently reside in the Bay Area of California where Gabe is a pastor at a local church and Casey is a full-time mommy to 3.Casey is passionate about her children and all of the adventures they undertake. Casey loves unlocking new horizons with her children through art, play and nature. This momma loves California but she will always hold a special place in her heart for her experience in Dallas and all of its beautiful opportunities.
