It’s not hard to find a park in Dallas on a nice day. There are plenty of parks around town and many offer great playgrounds and decent walking trails. It is, however, hard to find a park that is not completely crowded and overwhelmed with screaming kids and hovering parents.
A few weekends back, when the weather was just starting to warm up, we headed over to Davis Park (across from Prather Park) to enjoy some play time with friends. Davis Park is located in the Highland Park area and sits nestled into the charming Turtle Creek. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and much to our surprise, the park was pretty empty and quiet. Aside from having several swings, slides, and play areas to choose from, the trail that runs alongside Turtle Creek is just a few steps away and the perfect landscape for a family stroll.
Davis Park offered lots of shady spots to keep delicate skin out of the sun, plenty of activities for entertainment, and a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy some family and friends time. I think the little grin in this picture speaks for itself. We will definitely be returning to Davis Park to escape the crowds and enjoy the serene nature setting.
