If you’ve been following Dallas Moms Blog for awhile, you may recall the “Day In The Life” series we did a couple of years ago.
Kelly, Jenny, Amanda, Heather & Cassidy did as any good blogger would do, and they wrote about a typical day in their lives. But ever wonder what your day would “look” like if you took a photo every hour? The description of a typical Saturday in my life currently lends itself much better to pictorial review rather than verbal review.
Why, you ask? Simple!
3 children under 3 (+ 2 dogs)
So without further ado, here’s a glimpse into a recent Saturday in my life via my picture log. (Yes, that would make it my Plog–can I copyright that?)
5:10 am
5 o’clock hour on a Saturday??? Why yes! It’s my most productive hour of the day.
6:15 am
Getting a shower in before the littles wake up makes the day go much smoother.
7:45 am
1st of 4 bottles for the day (this doesn’t include all their solid food meals either)
8:20 am
Breakfast for the big people.
9:35 am
Alone time with the eldest while the twin-littles attend to their morning naps.
10:50 am
Garage clean out time with daddy and trying to distract the babies since the time for their next bottle is still about an hour away.
11:30 am
Toddler lunch (aka. feeding him what he’ll actually eat).
12:20 pm
Expending some of that endless energy!
1:50 pm
The three nap times intersect for about 1.5 glorious hours a day.
2:05 pm
Mommy time!
3:25 pm
A load (or two) a day keeps (some of) the stress away.
4:10 pm
Yep, you guessed it. TV watching happens in our house (gasp!). Other than nap time, it’s about the only time this little guy will sit still for longer than a few seconds. Flavor of the day – Toy Story. Between Woody, Buzz Lightyear & T-Rex, this little guy is in heaven!
5:00 pm
From L to R: 1) Daddy-son bike-riding 101 2) Patience for the 2.5 year old who would rather look at the birds is waning. 3) Daddy-son date with the bike is officially done.
6:10 pm
Barnyard fun while big brother has dinner.
7:30 pm
Bed time ritual – baths, bottles & books.
8:25 pm
Believe it or not, writing and/or working is my time to unwind..and the wine helps a lil bit too.
I am a contributer for Fairfield county moms blog and am in the EXACT same situation as you – minus 1 dog! I felt like I was looking at my own life through your plog! My oldest is almost 3 and I have twins that are 8 months….and my name is Michelle! Thanks for sharing!
Sounds just like our life as well. My oldest will be 3 in May and my twin girls were born in June 2013 (8 months). I was wondering if you would mind sharing a little more detail about your nightime routine. My husband and I are really struggling with that right now so would love any tips, advice, etc. Thanks so much!

Wow, Michelle! Sounds like we lead parallel lives. Would love to see a plog of your Day In The Life. 🙂
