It seems like just yesterday I was sharing my “must have” items for your preschooler from Target. But here we are–30 days later. School has started and we’re on our way into Fall. But for my family it means we’re THAT much closer to a major family transition. In less than 7 weeks we’ll go from a family of 4 to a family of 5! (Yikes!)

In the middle of this chaotic time of trying to get both of our boys into the routine of “back to school”, starting Fall sports, and glimpses of those major holidays peeking around the corner, we have the fun of throwing in another little one into the mix! Cue my neurotic Type A personality. In order to survive the next two or three months, I’ve gone into nesting and planning overdrive to help control the chaos; even making sure my little family (and my pregnant self) stay healthy!

Since hand hygiene is one of the most important preventive measures we can take to reduce the spread of illness-causing germs, we decided to accept the PURELL 30-Day Challenge and take action against my little petri dishes!

We’ve all heard some of the myths about Hand Sanitizers, so I decided to do a little research on my own and found this video helpful:

Within a few days, we made a visit to our nearest Target to stock up on a variety of PURELL products. Then for the last 30 days, we have all been using PURELL products 3 times a day. I’m proud to report our home has been illness-free ever since. (Which is pretty amazing considering we’ve been waist-deep in potty training!)

Now that kiddos are back in school, it’s more important than ever to practice good hygiene with your little ones. The start of Flu season is upon us and children will be exposed to more germs than ever in their classrooms. Here’s a few recommended tips for fighting germs in your home with PURELL!

Practice Good Hand Hygiene

Remember that washing your hands effectively will help prevent the spread of germs. The next time you prepare food, are getting ready to eat, sneeze, cough, use the bathroom . . .

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds and if soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs.

How do you get started? It’s simple! Head over to PURELL and make the commitment with your family. For 30 consecutive days, use PURELL Advanced Hand Sanitizer and other PURELL products 3 times a day. Try sprinkling it into your normal daily routines or even setting a reminder on your smart phone. Use it at home before and after meals, after a cough or sneeze, after playing with pets, or playing outside. Then make sure to take it on-the-go for those restaurants, airports, and mall outings.

At the end of the 30 days, see how your family feels!
